My family and I are supporting the American Heart Association.  Unfortunately, I have lost both of my parents over the past couple of years.  My mother passed away in 2019 from what appeared to be a respiratory issue, however, essentially her heart was the underlying cause.  She had surgery years ago to place artificial valves in her heart, allowing many more years of life for her.  Her heart was not able to keep her systems operating correctly and we lost her at a relatively young age.  I lost my father in the Spring of 2020.  My Dad was gifted an extra decade to his life due to treatments for his congestive heart failure.  The treatments finally ran out for him, but I feel so blessed to have had him around as long as I did due in no small part to the advances available for heart care.  We give to the American Heart Association so that others can benefit as we have.
